Juke is een jongeling in de muziek dat voortkomt uit de Chicago Ghetto House/Booty-scene & wordt getipt als hét Amerikaanse antwoord op Dubstep.
Het is al een lange tijd het populairste genre in de clubs van Chicago & sinds Planet Mu vorig jaar een Juke-compilatie uitbracht wint het genre & bijbehorende dansstijl (Footwork) via de Britse Dubstep & UK-Funky dj’s ook steeds meer aan populariteit over heel Europa. Antwerpen kan hier niet in achterblijven & dus brengen wij een avond gevuld met pure Chicago-Juke naast Hip-Hop & Dubstep naar Petrol.

Bio:
For more than thirteen years, the name Jedi Mind Tricks has become synonymous with raw, gritty underground hip-hop. From their debut album, The Psycho-social, in 1996 to their seminal sophomore release, Violent By Design, to their musical expansion heard on Servants
and Heaven, Kings in Hell, JMT has made an indelible impression on the independent music scene. JMT’s hardcore hip-hop sound is orchestrated by arguably the most well-known unknown
producer in rap music, Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind, and led by the fiery vocals of controversial frontman, Vinnie Paz. The duo has served as the backbone of the group as JMT has forged new ground by creating their own musical niche while maintaining one of the most critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful careers in independent music for more than a decade.
Though JMT rarely appears on Billboard charts, their success is most accurately measured in the passion and respect of their growing legions of hardcore fans who have packed JMT shows around the world from Boston to Bogota to Bucharest. JMT’s music is defiant and their longevity is a testament to their blue-collar work ethic born in the bloodlines of their hometown of Philadelphia.
The 2010 incarnation of Jedi Mind Tricks is now complemented by returning member, Jus Allah, who first appeared on the group’s Violent By Design album trading vicious rhymes with frontman, Vinnie Paz. Jus returned to the group in 2008 with his appearance on the JMT’s latest album, A History of Violence. On the turntables, JMT is represented by the battle-tested, mixtape award-winning, DJ Kwestion, who has been JMT’s tour DJ since 2006. On stage, fans will also recognize, Crypt the Warchild, who has been JMT’s longtime hypeman and also one-half of the hip-hop duo Outerspace.
2010 has been another exciting year for JMT as Vinnie Paz, released his debut solo album, Season of the Assassin, to earlier this summer, which features guest appearances by some of the most well-known names in rap including Clipse, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Paul Wall, ILL Bill and R.A.
the Rugged Man with production by Madlib, DJ Muggs (of Cypress Hill), L’il Fame (M.O.P), Lord Finesse (DITC), MoSS and more.
Also this year, JMT’s producer, Stoupe, released the debut album, A Bright Cold Day, from his long-awaited sideproject, Dutch, featuring vocalist Liz Fullerton.

Still a little bit shrouded in mistery, we discovered Tetsuo when a short ten-minute mix conjured by him reached our ears, with a ferocity we had only encountered on rare occasions… He is one of the pioneers in upholding the vile, gore-laden dubstep we all crave. Way undervalued, these two lads from Holland belong -in our opinion- to the top dubstep producers at the moment. one after another they release dancefloor killers that go off like an atom bomb and this has not gone by unnoticed by the Rottun crew, signing them for lots of releases to come and hopefully supporting their game internationally as well. Definately guys to keep an eye out for!
